Account Deletion

Permanently delete your RopeMate account and data

Before You Delete Your Account
Please read this important information carefully before proceeding

Deleting your account is a permanent action that cannot be undone. When you delete your account:

  • Your profile and personal information will be permanently deleted
  • You will be removed from all events and groups
  • All your messages and chat history will be deleted
  • Your created events will be transferred to remaining participants or canceled
  • You will lose access to the app immediately
How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: From the Mobile App

  1. Open the RopeMate app on your device
  2. Go to Settings from your profile
  3. Scroll down to Account Management
  4. Tap on Delete Account
  5. Confirm your decision and enter your password
  6. Tap Delete Account to complete the process

Option 2: From the Web App

  1. Log in to your RopeMate account on the web
  2. Navigate to Account Settings
  3. Click on Delete Account in the Account Management section
  4. Review the information and confirm your password
  5. Click Delete My Account to proceed

Option 3: Contact Support

If you're unable to access your account or prefer assistance, you can email us at support@ropemate.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and we will process your request within 48 hours.

Data Retention

After you delete your account, most of your data will be removed immediately. However:

  • Some data may be retained in backups for up to 30 days
  • Anonymized data may be retained for analytics purposes
  • Legal requirements may require us to retain certain information for specific periods (e.g., for dispute resolution)
  • Data shared in public forums may remain visible but will be anonymized
Alternative Options

If you're not ready to permanently delete your account, consider these alternatives:

  • Deactivate your account: Temporarily disable your account without losing your data
  • Adjust privacy settings: Control who can see your profile and activity
  • Unsubscribe from emails: Reduce communications without deleting your account
